A new kitchen is one of the biggest changes you can make to your home. Get the planning right and the rest falls into place. Here’s how we take customers from first idea to finished kitchen at Interiors by KW, our showroom on Pen Street in Boston, Lincolnshire.
1. Work out how you use your kitchen
Before you look at colours, think about how your household lives. Do you cook every night or mostly reheat? Do the kids do homework at the table? Do you need space for a washing machine, a tall fridge-freezer or a wine cooler? Write a quick list of what annoys you about your current kitchen. That list is the start of a good design.
2. Set a realistic budget
Decide what you’re comfortable spending before you fall in love with anything. Remember to allow for worktops, appliances, sink and tap, flooring, tiling or splashbacks, and any building work, such as taking a wall out. We can price options at different levels, so you know where your money goes.
3. Choose your layout
The shape of your room usually decides the layout: galley, L-shape, U-shape or a kitchen with an island. Think about the walk between the sink, hob and fridge. Keep it short and clear, and the kitchen will be a pleasure to use.
4. Pick your style
We offer over 50 kitchen ranges in a big choice of colours, including:
- Handleless: sleek and modern, with no handles to catch on
- Shaker: timeless framed doors that suit older and newer homes
- In-frame: a classic, made-to-last look
- Slab door: clean and simple, and great on a budget
Everything is made to order, so units and doors are built to suit your room.
5. Decide on worktops
Worktops make a big difference to the finished look. Quartz is hard-wearing and easy to clean. Wood brings warmth, and laminate keeps costs down. Come and see samples side by side in the showroom.
6. Choose how you want it fitted
At Interiors by KW you can choose:
- Fully project managed: we handle everything from start to finish
- Supply and fit: we supply and install your kitchen
- Supply only: if you have your own tradesmen
7. Visit the showroom
Photos only tell you so much. Seeing doors, colours, worktops and handles in person is the best way to decide. Our Boston showroom is open by appointment, so you get our full attention.
